Istanbul is a lively metropolitan city of over 15 million people; the commerce, finance, arts, culture and education hub of Turkey. It is also steeped in history and has a very rich cultural heritage. Istanbul was the capital of Byzantine, Roman and Ottoman Empires. It nurtured myriad cultures and has always retained a rich cosmopolitan character, which makes it an ideal place for intercultural education. Istanbul contains a quarter of Turkey's population and houses close to 50 universities.
 
FSMVU is a city university which boasts of historical buildings as well as modern ones in its campuses, located in central neighborhoods with easy access to the busy social and cultural life of İstanbul. FSMWU campuses are equipped with all the modern facilities to meet students’ academic and extracurricular needs.
 
Arriving in Istanbul 
There are two international airports in İstanbul: 
1. Istanbul Airport: Located in Arnavutköy (European side)
 
2. Sabiha Gökçen International Airport :  Located in Kurtköy (Asian Side)
 
To arrive at the city centre from the Istanbul Airport you can use the shuttle bus (HAVAİST). You can also get a car at the airport.
