International Graduate Student Scholarship Directive

  1. The Directive covers the scholarships given to international students who are enrolled in Master's, Doctorate/Art Proficiency (Doctor of Fine Arts) programs at our university.
  2. The types and rates of the scholarships that are to be offered to the students enrolled in the graduate programs of our university are determined by the University Board of Trustees for each year.
  3. Graduates of FSMVU;
    1. A 25% discount is applied to international students who graduate from Undergraduate programs and enroll in Master’s programs.
    2. A 25% discount is applied to international students who have graduated from Master's programs and enroll in Doctoral programs.
  4. All Graduates;
    1. International students who graduate from Undergraduate programs with a CGPA between 3.50-4.00 and meet the minimum level of language proficiency required by the relevant Department who enroll in our University's Master's programs can receive a 30% discount.
    2. International students who graduate from Master’s programs with a CGPA between 3.50-4.00 and meet the minimum level of language proficiency required by the relevant Department who enroll in our University's Doctorate programs can receive a 30% discount.
  5. Minimum requirements for international students who can qualify for a 100% scholarship in any graduate program of our university (*):
    1. Candidates applying to Master's programs must have graduated from their Undergraduate programs with a CGPA between 3.50 and 4.00,
    2. Candidates applying to the Doctoral programs must have graduated with a CGPA between 3.50-4.00 from the Undergraduate programs and must have graduated with a CGPA between 3.75-4.00 from their Master's program,
    3. Candidates must document that they meet the minimum language requirements for the Master's or Doctorate programs determined by the Institute of Graduate Studies,
    4. Candidates applying to programs in the field of social sciences must have a minimum Turkish Language proficiency of (C2),
    5. Candidates applying to engineering departments must have a minimum score of 85 in ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) or an equivalent GRE result,
    6. Candidates’ applied program must be within their fields (i.e.: The program that they apply for must be related to the field of their Master’s and/or Undergraduate program which they have graduated from).
  1. Scholarships and discounts for candidates who are members of institutions which have signed a discount/scholarship agreement with the university may receive said discount/scholarship within the scope of the rates and conditions specified in the agreement.
  2. Candidates who are entitled to a 100% education scholarship must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.20 at the end of the first academic year, otherwise the education scholarship will be terminated.
  3. Candidates that are entitled to more than one scholarship or discount can benefit from only one scholarship or discount, excluding sibling discounts and advance payment discounts.
  4. Scholarships for international students are valid only for the duration of the normal education period.

(*) 100% scholarships for Graduate Students are dependent on the quotas assigned by the University Board of Trustees for each individual program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a 100% scholarship.
